EXCURSIONS

Cabbage Key and Useppa Island   $45.00 per person

Includes boat trip and lunch. You leave Burnt Store Marina at 9:00 A.M. on the Cambridge Lady and navigate the length of Charlotte Harbor. You will have the opportunity to see dolphins, manatees, and a variety of birds and wildlife. The first stop is Cabbage Key. Cabbage Key is accessible only by boat, seaplane, or helicopter. One hundred acres of tropical vegetation surround the historic restaurant, inn and cottages. A panoramic view of Pine Island Sound is provided from the front porch atop a thirty-eight foot Indian shell mound. There are no cars there, not even a paved road. You will find winding nature trails and picturesque views. The next stop is Useppa Island. Useppa is also accessible only by boat. You will have lunch at the Tarpon Restaurant, and then spend the remainder of the afternoon strolling the beaches, wandering the paths, or just relaxing.

These guides specialize in shallow water fishing for snook, redfish, trout, and tarpon for which the area is noted. There are a gazillion fishing guides in the area, so if you can’t hook up with one of these guys, let me know and I will give you other names. If you want to go offshore for grouper, let me know and we can set that up also.
